"Hidden Faces" (also "Face It") is an ongoing series of photographs by Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK).
The first photography from the series was made in the year 2013 and the last in 2017.
All photographs from the series have a "hidden face" in common. That's why the series was called 2013 "Hidden Faces".
However 2016 Bieniek changed the name into "Face It", because he thought that it's more about "face it" in the sense of "make a face out of it" than about hiding.
It is usual for Sebastian Bieniek that the overthinks and rethinks his own work. Bieniek believes that he has to listen to it instead than to taliking to it, because an artwork can't listen anyway.
Therefore in 2017 he thought that there is no differance between hiding and making a face. Both is the same, because one uses more a face to hide somthing than to show something. Suddenly "Hidden Faces" made more sense for the artist than "Face It". That's why he renamed the serial again into "Hidden Faces".
Following this concept Bieniek made afterwards some older photographs part of the series again. That's the reason why for example "Hidden Face No. 6" is made in 2017 and "Hidden Face No. 7" four years before in 2013.
For Bieniek is the rethinking, finding and losing a more natural part of the process than the chonology. It's more about life than mathamatics and so should also his photographs be.
