"Secondfaced" is the first series from the oeuvre
of "Bieniek-Face" by Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK).
18 photographs are part of the series.
The first photography ("Secondfaced No. 1") from the "Secondfaced" serial was made in January 2013. This is around eight months before the first "Doublefaced 2013" photography was made. It's a self-portrait of Sebastian Bieniek with a black square on his face as a homage to the "Black Square" by Kazimir Malevich. A very literally taken homage if you have in mind that the word homage originally comes from the latin word "homo" (human).
In opposite to "Bieniek-Body" and "Bieniek-Set" the topic of all "Bieniek-Face" photographs is the human face.
And again and again the theme of disappearing - disappearing in the background as you can see in the "Secondfaced No. 12" or disappearing in the foreground as you can see in the "Secondfaced No. 1", or even disappearing in another personality or painting visualized for example in the "Secondfaced No. 5" and "Secondfaced No. 7". Everything is a gate into another world seem the photographs to tell.
