Painting is the continuous artwork of Sebastian Bieniek. He's painting since 1994. Since 1998 he's also cintinously working with Text and since 1999 making photographs.
With the performance "Hand without a body" made in 1999 Sebastian Bieniek became for the very frist time known in TV and magazines.
Later in 2007 his movie "The Gamblers" became part of the film-history, because there was never before and after a movie made with such a small budget (2000€) nominated for the official international competition of an A-Film-Festival.
2011 Bieniek wrote the book REALFAKE where he described the theoretic fundament of his following artworks.
In april 2013 Bienieks performance "My Friend Dr. Winker von der Deutschen Bank" was also again widely published in the media and was the beginning of a new phase (since a break 2002-2008) of his work as an artist.
2014 Bieniek continued to work on his Manualisation works and build it up to a Manualisation-Style which become a new personal mark among his body of art.
2017 he stated to focus again on Performance-Art and began the so called "No Matter World Tour" in which he travelled around the world to make in different cities and countries art performances in the public space.
In august 2013 Bieniek made his first series of photographs where he combined photography and painting. The "Doublefaced" series made at that time became one of the most famous memes in the
internet and made his artwork international known.
Later more series focused on the "Face" followed (Secondfaced, Bi-Faced...) The artist put this series into the category of "Face-Paint". Other photographs, where the body was overpainted were categorized as "Body-Paint" and those where the set was overpainted "Set-Paint".
This category contains Conceptual Art, Installation and Paint-Over works. Many of this works are inspired by the artists other works but the technic and presentation is different.
You can see for example that the "Conceptual Art" is based on the paintings, the "Installation" often on Bieniek's Textworks and the "Paint-Over" on his "Photo-Paint" artworks. What is different (as you see in the case of Paint-Over) is the technic. Here are real photograhs and paintings overpainted and in the Photo-Paint works the models or locations.
In this category you can see video and sculpture by Sebastian Bieniek and also some available posters.
Works until 2003
