Six paintings from the "Doppelgänger" series first time online!
Doppelgänger is a series of currently six paintings by Sebastian Bieniek.
The paintings were made between 2018 and 2019.
As with many of the artist's works, this one also deals with the topic of duality.
"Doppelganger" has been a synonym for the incomprehensibility of duality since the 19th century. How can there be the same thing twice? Can an individual occur twice or is the individuality itself the opposite of any multiplication.
However this question is answered, it is one of the key issues in almost every culture and time, and every culture and time has different answers to that question. One almost wants to say that the
time and the culture can be determined by the answer of this question.

Ten paintings from the "Face Behind the Face" series first time online!
Since the figures wear a crown-like headgear, the series got also a second title, which is "Kings and Queens".
However, the actual theme of the series, which plays with multi-faceted and mask-like style (as it is alread on many previous artworks by Bieniek, for example among the oeuvre of Bieniek-Face), is the face behind the face.
All ten paintings of the series are characterized by the fact that the face in the foreground merges with a face in the background.

The brandnew "Appearing Faces" series published!
The paintings from the "Appearing Faces" series, just like those from the "Unseen Faces" series, simply "appeared", hence the name, albeit in a completely different way and in a completely different style.
For Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK) this is very special and especially important to
paint, because he is deeply convinced that images are created in the mind and painting is not there to represent what is seen anyway outside, but what is recognized in the invisible not to say is
recognized. For him painting must be not a form of representation but an interpretation, more an oracle than an object.
The 2018 completed series includes 9 paintings, each in the size of 24 x 30 cm. and painted with acrylic on canvas.

The legendary "Bears" series painted 2009-2012 published!
8 paintings from the legendary "Bears" series by Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK) were
for the very first time on the artists website published.
Bears is an important series because it shows in a very natural way that it's poetry what matters for Bieniek and not technic, style or material.
